[Appearance]

One might say he looks more like a pilot or a mechanic than a wandering samurai - a ronin - at first glance. Dressed in several layers of thick, sand-colored cloth, most likely to protect against the harsh desert weather he lived in, he further accentuates his worker-like attire with various pocekts peppering his outfit, each no doubt filled with various tools, screwdrivers, wrenches and such. His most recognizable feature, though, may very well be his pilot's cap and goggles; both functional and decorative, he wears them everywhere and anywhere. However, a sword strapped to his back betrays this harmless-looking image, and proves that he is, indeed, one capable of killing another person. The teruterubouzu - weather doll, if you will - dangling from the end of the sword, smiling crookedly, only adds to his overall ironic appearance. A head of bushy, shoulder-length hair, a fiery orange color, and his eyes - closed in a cheerful smile most of the time, but sharp and cold at moments - completes his image. A desert fox, if you will - usually docile, yet dangerous when angered.

[Background Info]

Having grown up a normal childhood, Heihachi was soon recruited into the army, along with most young men of the age, when the great Samurai Wars started. However, due to his somewhat quiet and amiable personality, he was taken off the combat force and instead placed in the mechanical team, assigned to fixing machinery and aiding the soldiers indirectly. He was no doubt skilled at his job, and may have even been promoted over time, but - ah, a pity - fate, is not so kind. On duty, one day, he was tricked into leaking information to the enemy, ending in devastating results. The information he had let loose resulted in the death of his entire squad; he barely escaped with his own life.

By the time the war was over, he was left alone, friendless and destination-less. Burdened by the guilt of his betrayal - however unintentional it may have been - he set to wandering the world by himself, offering to chop wood in exchange for shelter and food.

It was during this aimless, wandering life that he ran into a strange event - a group of farmers aiming to recruit samurai to help them ward off bandits who stole their rice and people. Though at first hesitant, he soon came to see the job as a chance to redeem himself, and he joined as one of the seven samurai standing up against the bandits. At first a somewhat cautious member, he flared upon discovered several traitors in their midst; remembering his past follies, he came close to executing them, but was stopped each time. Over time, he came to realize that his rashness was foolish, and came to be a more forgiving individual.

Sadly, while his part of the mission succeeded and the village was saved from the bandit, he himself lost his life during action. However, of course, just like many others, he was brought back through the power of the gods...

[Personality]

A man of true split personality, one may say. Just as his appearance shows, he is usually a kind man - perhaps overly so. Eyes shut in happiness and a cheerful grin playing on his face, he takes life easily. Polite and friendly to everyone, kind to children, unwilling to fight without reason, and yet productive and hard-working, he may even be considered a man of high quality. However, there are some things he cannot forgive. His dark past compells him to hate traitors, and he will not hesitate to deal whatever punishment he feels is right to them. Likewise, as a warrior, he can and will fight to the best of his abilities when necessary, and his skill with a sword is formidable, at least.
